Trump Presses Putin For The Truth And Gets Unexpected Answer

The very first meeting between Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin has come and gone. So, what happened during the long awaited one-on-one meeting?

President Trump reportedly didn't hold back throughout the nearly two-hour long exchange. According to the New York Post, POTUS "grilled" Putin about his interference in the 2016 Presidential Election and received nothing but denials from Vladimir.

It's rumored that the Russians asked the President for "proof and evidence." Sadly, the U.S. government isn't ready to release such information. Both Trump and the world media weren't surprised that Putin acted so confident during the talk. However, there was a slight excitement surrounding the meeting with onlookers hoping that Trump's notoriously savvy negotiating skills would catch Putin.

“They had a very robust and lengthy exchange on the subject,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told the press. Tillerson was one of the few staffers who attended the long meeting that was only supposed to last 30-minutes. "Everybody knows we have a disagreement," he admitted. But, Rex continued to say that it was clear that for now, the two leaders wanted to move on and discuss the future.

Rex also revealed that Trump's staff sent in Melania Trump halfway through to try and wrap up the meeting. But, her efforts failed and the conversation lasted another hour after she left!

"President Putin and I have been discussing various things. I think it’s going very well, we’ve had some very, very good talks," Trump told reporters.

“We look forward to a lot of very positive things happening for Russia, for the United States, and for everybody concerned," he continued.

Surely, the President's response to the meeting wasn't what both Republicans and Democrats were hoping for this week. It looks like the world will have to wait a bit longer for any results to come from the DNC hack and election scandal. The most important factor is that the Trump administration has been essentially cleared of any wrongdoing. It's been months since the investigations began and even the biggest Trump-haters in Washington have found zip.

The two leaders apparently discussed the on-going problems surrounding North Korea. The approach in handling the situation is another issue that the two nation's seemed to disagree on but Rex Tillerson noted that Russia does agree with the U.S. that North Korea should be "denuclearized."
