President Bush Turns His Back On Trump In This Revealing Confession

Former President of the United States George W. Bush stepped onto the set of the TODAY show ready to open up about his thoughts on the Trump administration.

The now 70-year-old politician was asked about Donald's war with the media and essentially sided with corrupt reporters saying that free media is "indispensable to democracy."

He admitted that during his administration he had his own struggles with the press but said he does not agree with Trump's notion that the media are "enemies of America." He continued to tell TODAY'S Matt Lauer that freedom of the press is crucial because it holds people like him accountable.

"Power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive, and it's important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power," said Bush Jr.

It's easy to assume that the Former President was saying that leaders like Donald and Vladimir Putin have become power hungry. He expressed that during his administration he tried desperately to convince Russia to embrace American ways by adopting an independent press.

"It's kind of hard to tell others to have an independent free press when we're not willing to have one ourselves," he said.

Despite disagreeing with Trump on matters of the media, Bush defended that the American people need to give the President some time. He may not be the biggest fan of Donald but at-least he's been in the chair and respects that Donald is being sincere.

"I think you have to take the man at his word that he wants to unify the country."

Bush and many Americans need to recognize that Trump is not attempting to strip the nation of free press. At the same time, he's simply not going to stand by and take hits from fake news outlets. We want our representatives to be bold and honest so they are able to make the tough decisions. Why would we respect a leader who sits quietly while corrupters attempt to ruin his name and the faith of the American people. Trump will eventually win the war with the media by promoting honesty, not by taking away American freedoms.
