Donald Trump's spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders and a Fox reporter were caught in a bit of a press room battle leading to the reporter storming out.
When Fox New's correspondent John Roberts left the briefing, Sarah quickly scorned him with a laugh then saying, “John Roberts is bored today, he’s stepping out.”
Footage of the incident has yet to be released given Trump's new rule to leave cameras out of the daily briefing. Roberts has been a major critic of the President removing the live feed from the meetings.
The White House made the decision to pull the plug in the press room back in late June. The change was meant to stop fake news outlets from baiting Trump officials with controversial questions to boost ratings.
Naturally, the choice was made in anticipation of a massive backlash from liberal networks like CNN. However, some hate from pro-Trump networks like FOX was unexpected.
There are mixed reports coming out about the incident. Everyone from Buzzfeed to People magazine has an account of the exchange between Roberts and Sanders.
“To all who are musing over me leaving the @SHSanders45 Briefing … I have a live shot,” Roberts tweeted after the exchange.
“Had the brief been on camera, it would have been on TV, not me. I would have waited until it was over," he continued.
One member of the Mirror said that brief argument was over not having cameras in the room. “People laughed. It wasn’t like a snap. He just made a quip that was funny.”
